Hey Suzi, Thanks for writing back. I am humbled that my note to you has stirred you up and got you thinking. I understand burnout for sure, It's happened to me big time!!! And not to sound pessimistic, ( and I'm not at all these day's !! ) there will be more times of burnout that quite possibly lay ahead for you, but!! do not let it get a strangle hold on you, it's just the enemy who wants to take you down. Like Jesus in when He was in the wilderness, satan tried to seduce and lure him with promises of world domination and tempting him to prove his deity by jumping from the top of the temple. To these promptings Jesus quoted scripture and satan fled from Him. Keep yourself in the word of God daily! Study it! And love it! And keep it in your heart always!!! Have you ever read John Bunyons book "The Pilgrims Progress"? It's a work of classic literature and it's so revealing to our Christian walk in its content. It is in King James english but don't let that get in the way. remember, little children in a much more primitive America read the KJV as possibly the only book available back in the days of the pioneers, etc. I have read it several times and next to the bible, I love that book. If you can, find a copy with the scripture references in it, you will learn much from it. This book is taught in college courses, but if read with a sanctified and spiritual heart, and mind, It opens up much for you the believer, not to mention if you are a songwriter it also opens new vista's of viewing a subject or situation
from another point of view, but still in the right line of scripture.
I know what you mean about the bubble of churchdom that you spoke of, but just seek out a church that preaches and teaches the gospel faithfully. Hve you tried Calvary Chapel in Bozeman??? I sang there like fifteen or more years ago so I don't remeber much about it or if the pastor is the same as back then. They teach the Bible verse by verse, and I have to say that you get the scripture in content and it's only a squiriely mind that can mis-interpret when read as a whole. Don't let yourself settle for another, "country club" church catering to man rather than God. The time is short, I and many others can read it in the times we live in, by the signs that are becoming more and more visible, and that have been verified in the scriptures. So we all, ( believers ) need to be on our knees right now praying for our country, which is really the only light of righteousness that exists in this world. Yes we are guilty of much downright evil, but so was King David who was a murderer and adulterer to name a couple of his sins, yet he remained the apple of Gods eye and the line of Messiah. So be that individual you spoke of and are, and don't be swayed by peer pressure and the general consensus, ( it's not always right you know ) and pray that we continue to stand on the Judeo-Christian ethic that this country was founded on and that many are trying to wipe out!!!!
Also pray for Israel, which God loves, and for the Jews, Gods people of whom we are grafted in the vine through the blood of Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross. These are important prayers that are absolutely needed at this crucial time. We accomplish much through fervent prayer; individually and corporate. I am not trying to dump a load on you Suzi, I'm just aware of the urgency of the times, Matt. 24:32-34. To pray, and to win souls is our Christian service and if it's not a delight you must search your soul and pray for His joy to fill you! Whether the battles are won or lost, be diligent!!!
It's too bad you live so far away, you, I and my wife would have a great time singing and playing together, I think it would be a blast!!
I don't mean to get so heavy with the whole above discourse, but I sense in you a real warrior who is still trying to find her niche in all this and I'm just talking to my 'sis about what's nearby up the staight and narrow road. I have a good feeling about you Suzi and let me exhort you once more to great things for our Lord Jesus, Amen!!!! Lord bless you abunantly, you big brother, - Peter Oliva /PS - if you like you can contact me through my email too, it's up to you, rt.66@sbcglobal.net - P.

Hey Suzi, I'm glad you have a missionary heart and I pray that God gives you right direction for the perfect ministry!! My wife made a few missionary trips to China back in Mao's reign when it was still like going back 500 years once you crossed the border from Hong Kong into mainland China. She was in her mid twenties and went alone on her first trip and smuggled in a suitcase of Bibles. She tells of secret churches in rooms behind false walls that swung open to reveal the church. And how in the midst of chaos her prayers cleared the path for passage to travel while other foreigners couldn't get tickets on the very same trains and boats. She's a pistol!!!! As for me, I traveled around the USA and some Mexico and Canada touring as a solo music ministry for a lot of years to churches and various Christian fellowships. I travelled to some pretty obscure spots where no rocker had set foot before - and probably still hasn't!!! Before that I was an active side man and did a lot of touring with some notable and well known bands, going to Europe and back home to Canada and the USA.
I'm impressed with your list of instruments!! Do you play in a band? Or are you part of a worship team?? Whatever you do, don't bury your talents!
Well you're probably saying to yourself, " who is this guy and why is he writing me? " Well I was looking for friends and I'm new here and I just felt good about your profile and I felt in my spirit a true Holy Spirit led individual, not a cookie cutter Christian. And because I am the same way, ( which is not always the most popular way to go ) I just thought I would write you and exhort you to take advantage of the opportunities that Christ has for you and to pray and act upon them when revealed to you in this much too short life. I'm just a brother talking to his little 'sis. If you like, check out my music. My wife sings on some of the songs - By the way, do you sing too? I'm betting you do. I'd love to here you sing and play sometime. Though it was one sided, it was a pleasure to talk to you. Take care my 'Lil sis, and may God richly bless your life, - Your brother in Christ, Peter Oliva
