The Purpose of GraceAlley.com and Why We Discourage Debate

The GraceAlley.com mission statement, posted on the homepage reads, "At GraceAlley.com, Christians connect for community, engage in spiritual growth, and reach out to impact our world for Jesus Christ."

We are a site for born-again Christians to connect locally and globally with other Christians for fellowship, encouragement, and to enjoy learning what God is doing in and through the lives of Christians near and far.

Our doctrinal beliefs are posted here; please note: we're not a theological debate site and we strongly discourage debating among members. Sincere and saved Christians often believe differently on some topics, but Romans 14 urges us not to pass judgment on disputable matters. Theological debate often quickly becomes the work of the enemy creating hurt feelings and divisions in community.
We are a community to build up, not tear down.

The best thing to do if you discover a theological difference between yourself and another/others? Agree to disagree and silently give the matter to God, prayerfully asking Him to reveal any error in the heart of all involved and trusting Him to do so in His timing. Be sincere and passionate in what you believe, but please help us keep this a community that glorifies Jesus by neither creating nor participating in spiritual debate.

Romans 14:1
"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters."

James 1:26
"If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless."

I Corinthians 1:10
"I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought."

From Bible.org in explanation of I Corinthians 1:10...
"Literally, we see from a marginal note that the text reads, “to speak the same thing.” Paul calls upon Christians to “speak the same thing.” This is quite different from agreeing on everything. When Christians have different convictions, they are not to dispute with one another over them (Romans 14:1). Rather they are to keep their convictions to themselves (14:22). We are not to speak about them in a way that disputes with others about them or which seeks to impose our convictions on others. If we are exhorted to “speak the same thing” so as to practice and promote unity, then we must speak about those truths which all Christians share.
"

GraceAlley.com is not a for-profit site; we are a ministry site to glorify Jesus Christ. We reserve the right to ban any GraceAlley.com member who does not respect our Site Terms and position on Debate.

Psalm 139: 23-24
"Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

"When love prevails among believers, especially in times of strong disagreement, it presents to the world an indisputable mark of a true follower of Jesus Christ."
