About Me (Things I enjoy, Spiritual Gifts, Passions, Hobbies, Pets, etc.)
Read if you want make great songs. The title was a trick. Hi I’m Michael I’m 24 I have been in music projects for 10 years. Loved my music since I was a little boy. My earliest memories of wanting to get up on stage were, when I was 6, landscaping with my pops and brothers, I used to take rakes as pretend microphones, listening to classic rock, from a beat up stereo, with mulch, dirt n grass on it. That’s how my summers were growing up combining great songs, comradely, working hard out in the sun, having fun, making somebody’s home prettier today then yesterday. That kind of spirit is what I’m looking to join a band around. Right now we are in a forming mode, we = Greg and I. Greg plays the keys, and I am a singer/songwriter, I can play every instrument, for this, I will be just the singer. We are looking for a guitarist or two, bassist, drummer, if you can sing too that’s great. Happily we, got a bunch of responses, with our first ad, this is our upgraded, learned from round one ad. Our aim is to fit a group around personal, before talent. Again I have been playing for 10 years sometimes with very technically efficient players, and sometimes with beginners. I could care less, if you can play a lot or a little, the best times I ever had were, with people of like spirit, and were team players. When you get the right infuse of people, the songs will come, special magic happens. There’s a lot of hype around that you need to trade clips and compare how close you were to making it big with your last band, me I don’t care. I’m looking for cool guys who embody the rock n roll spirit. It’s more important to me that we have fun, make an atmosphere of loyalty and relaxed haven for creative freedom. The aim is to forge a strong home base to launch off from, to search the depths of life, our deepest feelings, longings, sorrows, and joys. Too often, I get a response like this “what do you sound like, how good are, can you be my robot slave and play these uninspiring parts, that only me and the guys I play are turned on by.” It appears that there is a lot of self-proclaimed next big things out there that are more involved in being play it safe critics, then creating anything wow, kaboom, new that is unlike anything else. They argue they are being realistic, a word that has been molested by cynics who want to appear less negative. Faith is what distinguishes me from that, I have faith this will work, no doubt, I have got a lot of creative, original, and risky ideas, material already written, able to adapt, also I’m totally into creating brand new material, and working with whatever you bring. There a lot of next degree Radioheads, and whatnots, but what about turn your head in circles, I have never heard anything like that before bands.
The band we want to make is not based on the based individual players, but one that makes great songs. A Great song to me, has a great meaning, feel, a mood to it, the solos, the effect pedals and technique are secondary. A great live show to me is not 5 stationary players looking tough, and mysterious, I have got a lot interesting plans here too. I’m not somebody’s monkey, and I don’t want any monkeys, so no Power Pants need to reply. We going under the assumption everybody has some unique talent, but personalities make or break it. So we're not interested in trading clips, or if you were what Rolling Stone Magazine said you were the next Rock God. This is not American Idol. Still, proving that though people have eyes they don't see, people write back "hmmmn interesting, do have a web page, or some recordings." It cracks me up. Other ads, that make me laugh is when people write no egos, or drama/trauma. This is so silly, because all humans have egos, and drama/trauma in their lives. If you harness it right or wrongly, it makes for great songs. Those are two basic absolute truths in the world, which all people have and go through. Why not use them to open and explore, to deny it is laughable. By the way if you miss the mark on the essential parts of life what kind of songs are you making, "1+1 = 2, no drama, no egos, I hate my parents, I hate God, I see no evidence for the supernatural, I hate my Ex girlfriend she’s a whore, I hate people who have egos, I hate people who cut me off in traffic, I write boring songs in my room and record them on my computer, nature is so pretty just to look at, I want to party, I want to fly, butterflies are neat, because they look nice, and science proves this." Come on what are you afraid of to go ok humans have drama, and egos, so what.... it can be very interesting. Age, another funny thing I don’t care if your 13 or 90, in fact that may be really funny and work. So what do we want? Guys who if we asked, "hey lets go to the river tonight because its spooky, eerie, magically foggy tonight, and it would be great for creativity, hit sticks, pretend stick sword fights, and throw rocks in the water to make sounds, and hymn chants like monks." Or any kind of oddball, out of reach of easy logic, get together to create, an atmosphere, where great songs can be planted, nurtured and flourish. Alchemy, experimenting with creative fertilizers, protected by loyalty, and trust to express the most vulnerable bare, exposed parts of ones soul's feelings.” You would go yup, that’s me. We too are looking for people to feed off, so we’re open to try all kinds of ways, we're looking to be equal brothers. Not communist though "another long story." If it turns you off, no need to write back, if thinking about that turns on strange dormant gizmos in you, that go absolutely, I won't more write back, I’ll get back to you right away.
